Job Description

Supports the Project Management in implementing EHS framework with respect to workplace Health & Safety & act as per the guidelines of EHS Head Office.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTION OF THIS POSITION :

  • Implement HSE requirements during highway O&M activities at project site.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory and organizational HSE requirements.
  • Conduct inspections of corridors, toll plazas, work zones, maintenance activities and associated facilities to identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions.
  • Monitor traffic management, work zone safety and PPE compliance at site.
  • Conduct HSE inductions, toolbox talks, training programs and safety awareness initiatives for employees and contractors.
  • Assist in Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and implementation of risk control measures.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses; ensure reporting, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, incident statistics and submit periodic reports to management/HO.
    Coordinate Project HSE Committee meetings and monitor closure of action points.
  • Monitor contractor HSE compliance, conduct periodic interactions and evaluate safety performance.
  • Inspect vehicles, equipment and emergency response systems for operational readiness and compliance.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and mock drills for fire, road accidents and other emergencies.
  • Support road safety initiatives, black spot monitoring, safety signage inspections and awareness campaigns.
  • Coordinate environmental monitoring activities related to air quality, noise levels, waste management and pollution control, wherever applicable.
  • Promote housekeeping standards and organize HSE promotional programs such as National Safety Day, Road Safety Month and World Environment Day.
    Support employee health, hygiene and community engagement initiatives at project site.
  • Liaise with auditors, consultants and stakeholders during inspections and audits.
  • Provide inputs for improvement of site-specific HSE procedures and practices.
  • Undertake any other HSE and road safety related responsibilities assigned by management.

      Candidate Profile

      QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

      • Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering in Fire Technology & Safety.
      • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in implementing and monitoring EHS management systems in the infrastructure sector.
        • OR
      • Educational Qualification: Graduate (any discipline) or three-year Technical Diploma with an additional one-year Diploma in Industrial Safety Management.
      • Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in implementing and monitoring EHS management systems in the infrastructure sector. Additional Preference: Candidates possessing internationally recognized professional qualifications/certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), NEBOSH or equivalent HSE certifications.
